The Decherd Christmas Parade, December 19, 2009. Parade Entry Winners: 1st Place Winner: Franklin County Day Care, Winchester Tn. 2nd Place Winner: McDonalds: 3rd Place Winner: City of Winchester--Dogwood Float; Best Christmas Spirit: Decherd United Methodist Chruch, Decherd, Tn.; Best Golf Cart: Seventh-day Adventist Church of Decherd. The Grand Marshall was Bill Hatchett, longtime banker of Decherd, car driven by Decherd Fireman Daniel Meaker.

| Mr. fred doney was the Grand Marshal for the 2008 Decherd Christmas Parade.

| Mr. Martin Tyler (Fire Captain) and Brian Hill (Police Officer) were reciently honored for their heroic actions in helping save the life of a fellow citizen at a structure fire. They were presented plaques and certificates by their chiefs and the Mayor.

| Introducing Miss Decherd. Meredith Lee Caruso, age 16, daughter of Maryanne and Robert Caruso is the proud winner of the City's beauty pageant. She also took the prize for Most Photogenic . Miss Caruso is interested in art, reading, Irish Dancing, and cooking. Her favorite color is purple. We are very proud of the participants for this pageant.
