The administration of the City of Decherd, takes place by a friendly, courteous staff. We strive to do our jobs in the most efficient manner possible. | Mike Foster was just recently appointed in October 2011 as Decherd's newest City Administrator. He had served as Decherd's City Recorder, CityAdministrator, and City Municipal Judge from 1985-1998. He left the City of Decherd in 1998 due to being elected as SHERIFF of Franklin County until 2006. He had also served as Franklin County Commissioner while at Decherd from 1990-1998. Mike, possesses a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Administration of Justice and Business Administration from Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri. He attended Graduate School at Middle Tennessee State University for his Master's in Criminal Justice Administration.
Mike, is a veteran of the US Army, serving for approx. 10 years of Active Duty, as a Military Policeman, and he served also in the Tennessee Army National Guard, activated during the Gulf War to Southwest Asia in 1990-1991. Mike is a graduate of the F.B.I. National Academy, Session #215th, graduating in December 2003 at Quantico, Virginia.
